The Holmes County Board of County Commissioners has set the county's initial millage rate for the upcoming year at 9.1960, a more than 2 percent proposed reduction from the current rate of 9.4192. If approved, the tax rate will mark the lowest millage since the 2000-2001 fiscal year.
