Holmes County is one step closer to having an animal control program, despite the Holmes County Board of County Commissioners being a bit divided on the decision to hire an animal control person in the June 30 regular meeting. "If we're going to get into the animal control business, I'd like to create that position," said county coordinator Wendel Whitehurst.
